Sestri come Montmartre
Every year in my city there is an awesome event called “Sestri come Montmartre”.
You can find people exhibiting their paintings and art through the streets, just like in Montmartre.
However, this event doesn’t have a logo: let’s try to create one!
Genoa is an industrial city and Sestri Ponente – the neighborhood where the event takes place – is the home of a factory that builds ships and ferries.
The idea of mixing an industrial mood, ships and art could be a great starting point.
I usually draw some icons or brainstorm some keywords to clear my mind.
Idea 1
I always start by making sketches to give free rein to my creativity.
The first idea depicts a ship painted with a brush.
The idea isn’t terrible, but I’m just afraid it might look like the logo of a company that paints bows of ships…
Idea 2
With the second idea I wanted to emphasize the importance of canvases.
Placing a ship in the middle of a canvas? Well, maybe not so original.
Hey, I have an idea! Let’s replace the tripod mast with an anchor.
