Hey there, I’m Davide, an Italian designer rocking a Bachelor’s degree in Communication. I’ve taken a bunch of courses in visual design, motion graphics, and illustration. I jumped into the worklife design scene and have been at it for over 3 years now.

All Projects

The drawing on the fridge

I participated in the ‘Young Lions Italy’ contest for the film category as part of a team with Chiara Donegà (copywriter).

The output was intended to be a short video to help the Francesca Rava non-profit organization find new volunteers

The brief

We request the development of a video ranging from 15” to 60” capable of depicting the reality of Juvenile Correctional Institutions (IPM – Istituti Penali per i Minorenni) and the importance of creating a serious, concrete, and achievable path for young people between their detention reality and a peaceful, productive future in civil society.

Highlighting how the reintegration of youth from Juvenile Correctional Institutions into society is a two-way process, involving not only the youths in becoming aware and overcoming their mistakes but also the community, which must be willing to take a step towards them. This not only means abandoning stereotypes and prejudices but also taking concrete actions in terms of volunteering and involvement, following the motto: “Engage, get involved for change!”.

Only by taking the first step ourselves can we truly bridge the gaps.

The idea

The result of the brainstorming phase was the decision to base our video on empathy and the importance of mutual support.

Crafting

First of all, I sketched a storyboard.

The competition lasted only 48 hours, and we didn’t have time to create professional footage, so I chose to work digitally, using some stock elements and 3D modeling/animation.

For the animated drawings, I decided to work in a very simple manner to maintain the “childlike drawing” mood without complicating it.
